Despite our best efforts and intentions, 2010 just wasn’t the year to get a share of the MRX Production for us here in Oz. Despite that disappointment, Dan advises us that we are first on the list for the 2011 production and can expect bikes here in late Feb / early March.

Again the delay has resulted in significant benefits for Aussie purchasers, with several key improvements having been made to the bike during the past 12 months. These include a revision to the tank covers, lighter fairings, a rear hugger, new indicators and the release of the four colours first promoted – all in the metallic base / clear top coat paint work of the Solar Fury. The range now is – Black – White – Red and Yellow.

The Carbon Fibre panels first touted for use in track bike versions of the Fischer, are also coming on stream and should be available early in 2011. Pricing is yet to be finalised but is looking quite reasonable.

Well almost, two little fairly insignificant things and the ADR on the MRX is done and dusted.

The streets will never be the same and the best new motorbike for the aussie public for 2010 is about to be released!

Interest is Rising – No not mortgage rates!

Not sure if it is the weather or if we are seeing the end of concerns over the GFC, but interest in the Fischer MRX over the past month has been very encouraging. Comments vary from “Wish it was LAMS approved”, “My girlfriend would like it”, to “WoW”.

All I can say to everyone who has followed the recent history of the bike and to those who have taken the time to come and have a look see, JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU RIDE IT!

Whilst I am sure the bike will appeal to the ladies with its light weight (167kg) and low seat height (749mm), the bike has I believe a far greater appeal than that. As Dan Fischer once said to me “Every child out there believes he needs 1000cc’s”, the reality is that very few have the ability and or opportunity to use the power generated by these bikes anywhere near their full potential.

The standard MRX cannot hope to compete in a HP shootout against the current crop of Super Sports bikes, let alone the Super bikes from the Japanese and/or Europe and in a straight line will always lose out to them. But as we all know, riding is not all about straight lines and most of us determindly set out to discover the twisties whenever we can, where a bike that handles as good as any, brakes as good as any and has a solid, even “trashable” willing engine will make the ride that much more enjoyable than one where your scared to twist the throttle. But thats my opinion – JUST WAIT TILL YOU RIDE IT

On that we have received advice we are in the scheduling processs for our final evaluation for compliance and so hopefully, very soon I will be able to offer you just that – A Test Ride. Then you can give me your opinion.

Of course the other advantage of the MRX is the price! You could buy one for a tracky and one for everyday riding and still come back with change compared to some of the competition.
